From October 21 to 23，2018, “The Ninth National Academic Conference of Young and Middle-aged Epidemiologists”, aka “the training course on theory and practice of public health” and “the teacher’s training course on Epidemiology (eighth edition)” were held at Daoxianglou Hotel in Hefei.
Academic exchanges were conducted at the conference by 21 experts and scholars from Peking University, Wuhan University, China CDC, Soochow University, Jiangsu Provincial CDC, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and Anhui Medical University. The reports covered theories and practice of public health, infectious disease epidemiology, chronic non-communicable disease epidemiology, injury prevention and control, epidemiological jurisprudence and other fields. With high academic level and a wide coverage of content, the conference had won unanimous praises from the delegates. The meeting read out a list of outstanding papers submitted to “the Ninth National Academic Conference of Young and Middle-aged Epidemiologists” and the leaders presented Excellent Paper Certificates to the 20 award-winning authors.
The conference was hosted by the Epidemiology Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, in collaboration with the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, the School of Public Health of Anhui Medical University and the editorial board of the Chinese Journal of Disease Control& Prevention. More than 470 representatives from the national institutions of higher learning, the CDCs, scientific research centers and medical institutions attended the meeting.
