The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University launched the trial operation of the first online hospital in Anhui Province on the morning of October 17, 2019, and the first “5G + 4K” remote cooperative surgery involved three places in two provinces was also successfully carried out on that day. Shan Xiangqian, CPC Secretary of Anhui Provincial Health Commission, attended the launching ceremony of the trial operation of the online hospital and observed the remote cooperative surgery on site.
At 9:00 a.m. on October 17, 2019, a urological surgery was being conducted in Suixi County Hospital, more than 270 kilometers away from Hefei. At the same time, the whole process of that surgery was transmitted to the remote consultation center of the online branch of First Affiliated Hospital, Anhui Medical University and the mobile consultation platform of the First Affiliated Hospital, Guangzhou Medical University respectively via 5G signal and the operation system equipped with 4K camera. The urology experts Liang Zhaozhao and Zeng Guohua provided remote guidance; the surgery was successfully completed one hour later. This surgery is the first case of “5g+4K” cross-province remote cooperative operation in Anhui Province, which marks the new progress of remote medical treatment in Anhui Province. These technical applications will also provide new technical support for the construction of Medical Association.
In recent years, the First Affiliated Hospital has been awarded by the National Health Commission as “Level V Hospital in Application of Electronic Medical Record System” and “Level IV, Class A Hospital with Standardized Interconnection”. It is the only comprehensive Level III hospital in Anhui Province that has passed two evaluations at the same time. The hospital has been promoting informatization and constructing a Smart Hospital.
