Mr. Yu Yongqiang, Vice President of Anhui Medical University led a delegation to participate in Maryland-Anhui Promotion Week in State of Maryland, USA from May 28 to June 1, 2018. This event was jointly held by Anhui Provincial People’s Government and Maryland State Government. More than 200 delegates attended the event, including Mr. Zhou Xi’an, Vice Governor of Anhui Province, Mr. Xie Ping, Vice Director-General of Anhui Provincial Education Department, Mr. Boyd Rutherford, Lieutenant Governor of Maryland State, Mr. John C. Wobensmith, Secretary of Maryland State andsome other representatives from the fields of government, commerce, health care, education, etc.
Delegation of Anhui Medical University attended the opening ceremony of Maryland-Anhui Promotion Weekand educational cooperation conference between Maryland and Anhui, visited Charles Herbert Flowers High School and Towson University, and witnessed the establishment of Anhui Provincial Overseas Education and Training Base at the University of Maryland. In addition, the delegation paid visits to San Francisco and Stanford University. Some delegates attended the meeting for overseas alumni, which was held in the research center of Gotion, Inc. in Silicon Valley. At the meeting, Mr. Yu Yongqiang presented the talents introduction policies and programs of Anhui Medical University and the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU, expressing his sincere expectation for all the talents of home and abroad to join.
Anhui Province and Maryland have a 38-year Sister State relationship, and during the celebration of Maryland-Anhui Promotion Week, relevant institutions and enterprises have signed 10 cooperative agreements so as to invigorate the exchange and collaboration in the fields of education, commerce, health care, talents cultivation and training, etc.
