IV. Application Requirements

  1. Applicants must have a good command of English. All the courses are taught in English. Applicants' mother tongue or second language must be English, or they should have learned courses in English. They should be skillful in English listening, speaking, reading and writing. Applicants whose mother tongue is not English must provide eligible  IELTS score of at least 5.5 or TOEFL score of at least 61 or any certificate  showing the applicants have equivalent English proficiency of 5.5 for IELTS or 61 for TOEFL.

Undergraduate scholarship recipients must register for Chinese-taught credit courses. They are required to take one-year preparatory courses in one of the 10 universities listed below and to pass the required test before moving on to their major studies.

Undergraduate scholarship recipients can apply for preparatory course exemption if they completed their secondary education in Chinese or have a valid HSK certificate that meets the requirements of the host university. Official documents from secondary schools or a photocopy of a valid HSK certificate must be submitted for a preparatory course exemption application. Please NOTE that HSK results are valid for only 2 years.

Applicants with advanced Chinese proficiency can apply for Chinese-taught credit courses.

  1. Requirements of Diploma, academic scores and scientific research capacity

Undergraduates: Applicants must be high school graduates. They must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology graduation exams. Their physics, chemistry and biology exam results must be above B+ or 70%.

Postgraduates: Applicants must provide Bachelor’s degree diploma, recommendation letters from 2 experts and research plan.

Doctoral candidates: Applicants must provide Master’s degree diploma, Master’s thesis, recommendation letters from 2 professors or associate professors and research plan.

  1. Applicants can't have any adverse record. Applicants must submit their graduation certificate, exam result sheet, passport and identity card. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.

  2. Applicants under 18 must submit letter of authorization for guardianship.

  3. Applicants must be healthy and have passed health check-up.

  4. Applicants must have sufficient financial support for all the fees.

V. CSC Scholarship Application

I  Application

The applicants should send their applications in time to the College of International Education (hereinafter referred to as CIE) of AHMU before May 31, 2018

II Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.

2. Education background required and age limit:

Applicants for master degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35;

Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

3. The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship.

III Details of the Scholarship

1. Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, internship fee, fee for basic learning materials and on-campus accommodation fee;

2.Comprehensive Medical Insurance;

3. Monthly living allowance is granted to the students;

4.One-off settlement subsidy is for new students upon their arrivals in China.


IV. Application materials

The applicants must fill in and provide the following materials truly and correctly (in dupliucate)  to SIE

1. Applicant first gets the award letter from China Embassy;

2. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship. It should be filled in and printed out after submitting online;

i.The CSC Online Application System for Study in China is available at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn ;

ii. AHMU university code is 10366;

3. Highest diploma ( notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students or already employed, they should provide pre-graduation certificate or employment certificate;

4. Transcripts (notarized photocopy);

5. A study or research plan( no less than 800 words); Sample Download

6. Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors;

7.Passport copy;

8. Photocopy of foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority); Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.

VII Approval and Notification

1,AHMU will review all the application materials. The application will be deemed to be waived and will not be processed if the applicants are not qualified or the application materials are inconsistent with the recruitment regulations or are incomplete;

2. Applicants are allowed to contact the professor prior to application and please enclose the relevant admission or recommendation letter if there is;

3. Applicants who cannot register before September 30 are regarded as giving up the scholarship.

  Departure Time of the shuttle bus at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport: 700 am – 800 pm, every 40 minutes at the price of 25 yuan (RMB).  For more details please refer to the website: http://www.hfairport.com/Transportation/Bus.aspx

Take a taxi at the airport exit. You may have the address "梅山路安徽医科大学" printed in Chinese and show it to the taxi driver. It takes about 40 minutes and about 80 yuan (RMB) from the airport to the university.

X. Registration Items


    Admissions and Registration

Article 1 When a freshman registers, he/she shall deal with the enrollment procedures at the University at the prescribed time by taking the valid passport with the valid study visa (X1) or residence permit , Admission Letter (original), the remittance proof as required, Visa Application for Study in China (original) (Form JW202 for self-supporting students and Form JW201 for students granted with Chinese Government Scholarship), and the Medical Examination Documents (original). In case of any special circumstance, under which the student is unable to arrive at the University on time, he/she shall ask for a leave in advance to the Admissions Office of the School of International Education of Anhui Medical University, and the duration of the leave MUST be less than 7 days ((a period of 7 days extended from the latest date for registration prescribed on the Admission Letter). Those who get the approval on leave will have the right of delayed registration. Those who fail to get approval of delayed registration or those who fail to register within the required period will be subject to cancellation of admissions qualification.


Article 2 The freshmen shall honestly fill in the Registration Form for International Students of Anhui Medical University required by International Students Management Office of the School of International Education. The accommodation will be arranged uniformly by the Logistics Department of the University after the freshmen sign the Accommodation Agreement. Students Management Office arranges all the freshmen to take a medical examination at the required institution in Hefei, and those who are unqualified for the medical examination according to the health standards required by the Chinese government or the University will be subject to cancellation of admission qualification, and shall leave China within 30 days ((a period of extended from the date of entry) and their travel expenses must be covered by the students themselves.


Article 3 International students must arrive at the University on the prescribed date and take the valid passport and student ID to International Students Management Office at the beginning of each semester for student status registration. Those who are not registered mustn’t participate in the University’s various teaching activities, and the Office will not issue any official certificate or letter for them. In case of any special reason resulting in the failure to return to the University as required, the application for a leave shall be submitted to the class counsellor in advance, and the Students Management Office will decide whether to approve the application based on the actual situation. Those who have not asked for a leave and those who fail to get the approval of a leave shall return to the University as required, or their absence will be recorded. Those who have not asked for a leave and those who fail to get the approval of a leave MUST return for the registration procedures within two weeks ((a period of 14 days extended from the commencement of the courses in the new semester), otherwise they will be subject to the cancellation of their status as students of Anhui Medical University.

     In order to make the freshmen adapt to the new environment and for safety’s sakeyou must reside in the International Students’ Building Dormitory for the first academic yearAfter one yearyou can freely make your choices of either staying on-campus or off-campus

   The International Student Building is a modern apartment building with 18 floorsequipped with full supporting facilities in the roomsuch as color—TV setrefrigeratorair conditionercable television, broadband internet etcThe apartment has only double rooms , each of which has a washing room, a bathroom and cabinetsWe also provide public kitchens and laundry rooms

Food and Drinks

Urban Public Transportation

     The public transportation system consists of busestaxes and subway (under construction)most of the international students living out of the campus choose bicycles as means of transportation

     In China the traffic is on the right side of the roadA valid driving license is required for driving cars and motorcycles in ChinaDriving Licenses issued by foreign countries can't be used here

Medical Insurance

     We have bought medical insurance for all the registered international studentsIf you are hospitalized due to serious diseases or accidentsyour teacher in charge will help you claim expense under insurance policyBut the medical insurance doesn't cover outpatient treatment fees

PassportVisa and Residence Permit

     Foreigners who lodge in China must have a valid passportvisa or residence permitWhen you come to China to studyyou must apply for an X visaForeigners holding X visamust get residence permits within 30 days of entry from Hefei Exit-Entry Department of the Public Security BureauOtherwise it is illegal to stay in ChinaBefore your passportvisaresidence permit expiresyou must extend themor it is against the law to live in ChinaAny violation of the law will lead to punishmentvarying from a finedetention for investigation to repatriationTherefore you must keep an eye on your passport and residence permit to avoid being overdue

     The department that conducts administration of foreigners is Exit-Entry Department of the Public Security BureauYour teacher in charge will help the newcomers to perform all the necessary procedures for the first timeIn the following years the students need to go there and extend their visaresidence permit each year by themselvesRemember to go to your teacher first to make an appointment with the Exit——Entry Department at least two weeks before your visaresidence permit expires
