Cao Yunxia Attends the Summit Forum on Reform and Development of Medical Universities Co-constructed by Provincial Government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education

On October 27, 2018 the 3rd Summit Forum on Reform and Development of Medical Universities Co-constructed by Provincial Government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education was held in Wenzhou Medical University. President Cao Yunxia was invited to attend the conference and made a speech. The conference focused on the theme of “Undergraduate education-oriented medical education”. The presidents, experts and scholars from 15 medical universities co-constructed by provincial government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education attended the conference and some leaders from Department of Science and Technology of National Health Commission, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, and Health Committee attended the meeting as well.

At the conference, Cao Yunxia made a report on “Improving Medical Talents Training Based on Undergraduate Oriented Education and Alliance Cooperation”. In her speech, Cao focused on the opportunities for medical universities co-constructed by provincial government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education, and high-level university construction, introducing AHMU’s efforts to develop undergraduate education and train contemporary doctors, with “training talents with virtues” as the fundamental task and the innovative “talent training” mode. 
The participating universities, leaders, experts and scholars also held round-table meetings to discuss and exchange views on issues such as the co-construction and undergraduate medical education.
The summit forum aimed to implement the goals and tasks of the co-construction to build medical universities, to build a communication platform for mutual development, shared resources, and a brilliant future, to share the achievements and experiences of the co-construction, further promoting the close communication, exchanges and cooperation between medical colleges and universities, and expanding the influence of the medical universities co-constructed by provincial government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education. It was reported that in the next step, the state would strive for stronger coordination, higher goals, and more practical measures to ensure the implementation and build a high-level “national team” with comprehensive development of medical education and research.
On October 28, Cao Yunxia was also invited to attend the 60th anniversary commemorative meeting of Wenzhou Medical University. The leaders from Development Planning Office and the Academic Affairs Office also attended the meeting.
