Expert from Mannheim School of Medicine, University of Heidelberg visits AHMU

From October 11 to 15, 2019, Professor Jonathan Sleeman from Mannheim School of Medicine, University of Heidelberg, visited AHMU. Vice president Yu Yongqiang met with the foreign guest cordially and exchanged views on further strengthening teacher & student exchanges and scientific research cooperation between the two universities.

At the opening ceremony of the overseas study enrollment, Professor Sleeman reviewed and summarized the graduate program carried out between the two universities, interpreted the latest policies of the program, and organized a reading report seminar to encourage the students to discuss and exchange actively. During the interview with the candidates who applied to University of Heidelberg for a Master’s degree in Translational Medicine this year, he fully affirmed the comprehensive quality of the candidate students, put forward targeted opinions and suggestions, and hoped that AHMU would have more outstanding students in the future for further study in University of Heidelberg. According to statistics, thanks to this study abroad program, since 2010, AHMU has selected 62 students studying in Germany.

At the 2nd China-Germany Cancer Academic Forum co-sponsored by the Provincial Anti-Cancer Association Oncology Pathology Committee, AHMU Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the School of International Education, Professor Sleeman and several AHMU experts and physicians conducted in-depth exchanges in scientific research and cooperation, and made special academic reports. Seven young scholars of AHMU and Hefei University of Technology reported their research results in the academic forum, and more than 60 teachers and students of AHMU participated in this seminar.
During his visit, Professor Sleeman also visited the Oncology Department of the High-tech Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital and conducted academic exchanges with young doctors.
