On December 21, 2021, Li Shiyun, the chairman and secretary of CPC Party Committee of Anhui Provincial Returned Overseas Chinese Association, and Yang Bing, vice chairman, secretary-general and member of the Anhui Provincial Returned Overseas Chinese Association, paid a visit to the Second Affiliated Hospital of our university. During the visit, they handed over the banner presented by Anhui International Huishang Exchange Association in Uganda and read out the letter of appreciation from the association. Gu Jiashan, secretary of CPC Party Committee of our university, attended the banner handover ceremony and made a speech.
It is reported that after the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19 epidemic in Uganda, The Second Affiliated Hospital of our university actively organized medical experts with rich experience in epidemic prevention, diagnosis and treatment to carry out online diagnosis and treatment services for patients there. The online assistance lasted for nearly three months, and more than 150 COVID-19 person-times received medical advice. The Second Affiliated Hospital of our university worked with overseas Chinese there with concerted efforts to fight against the epidemic and overcome the difficulties via the real-time interaction of tens of thousands of text messages, voices and videos, which greatly encouraged the overseas Chinese in Uganda to overcome the epidemic.
