On the morning of March 21, 2018, the 2018 Vernal Equinox Memorial Service was held at Hefei Shushan Culture Cemetery in which participants remembered donors of remains and the organ of cornea. Mr. Liu Qunying, Deputy Secretary of CPC Party Committee of AHMU,and volunteers fromAnhui Medical Universityattended thememorial activity.
Lyu Zhen and Lu Siheng, two young teachers from the Morphological Experiment Center of AHMU, read a poignant poem, the Last Glory— toSilent Mentors, expressing their heartfelt respect for the donors. Thirty-five student volunteers fromAHMU recited the eulogy,Tribute to the Donors, pushing up the memorial service to the climax. TV hosts from Anhui Television Station and members from the donor families presented their recitations respectively as well.After the recitation, the leaders,the volunteers and the donor families laid flowers on the monument, bowing their heads and observing a moment of silence, to remember their selfless great loveand the indelible contributions made by the donors to the advancement of Human Medicine and the cause of Life and Health.
The servicewas held by Anhui Red Cross and Anhui Radio and Television Station. The recitation was hosted by Wang Xiaochuan, a famous host of AHTV. This charity event was attended by heads of relevant departments of AHMU, officials ofAHMU Organ Donation Center, teachers of School of Basic Medical Science, more than thirty volunteers of undergraduates and graduate students from AHMU, and people from all walks of life.
