AHMU Students Participate in the International Language Competition Held in Russia

From April 11 to 15, 2018, 7 students from Anhui Medical University were invited to Russia’s Voronezh State Medical University to participate in the Final of the 5th International Language Competition — “Medicine and Languages: The Crossroad of Culture” and won several awards, winning honors for the university and gaining praises from teachers and students who also participated in the competition.

A total of 20 students from Chinese member universities of Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities went to Russia and participated in the Final of the 5th International Language Competition, among whom are 7 students sent by Anhui Medical University. They are Chen Lijun and Wang Chen, students majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology of 2016 Batch; Yang Haoyu, student majoring in Clinical Medicine of 2017 Batch; Chen Siyu,student majoring in Medical Imaging of 2017 Batch from the First Clinical Medical School; Qin Qiangqiang and Zhang Tianxiang, students majoring in Clinical Medicine of 2017 Batch from the Second Clinical Medical School, and Huang Yanshuang student majoring in Chinese Pharmacy of 2017 Batch from School of Pharmacy. After several rounds of competitions, Chen Lijunand Wang Chen were awarded the “Artistic Speech Award”, Qin Qiangqiangand Chen Siyu the “Impressive Performance Award”, Zhang Tianxiang and Yang Haoyuthe “Incisive Speech Award”and Huang Yanshuang the “Innovative Speech Award”.

In addition to the competition, the Chinese and Russian medical students had an in-depth discussion on the issues like cultural differences between China and the West and the medical education system based on their own life experiences. They also visited the university laboratory, history museum, space medicine museum and the training center of clinical practice skills of Voronezh State Medical University.

The competition is hosted by Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities founded in 2014. It is a cooperative association of universities established by the governments of China and Russia. Composed of 92 high-level medical universities, it is the largest and most extensive cooperative alliance established for universities in China and Russia.AHMU has been the council member unit since its establishment.
