On March 24, 2018, the inaugural meeting of Anhui Provincial Medical Partnership for Reproductive Medicine was held in Hefei. The Partnership was initiated by the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (AHMU). The hospital presidents and directors of Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department/Reproductive Medicine Center from 49 hospitals of city-level and county-level categories in Anhui Province participated in the meeting. Wang Yuming, sub-inspector of Anhui Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, Cao Yunxia, president of Anhui Medical University/director of Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU, and Jin Zongxiang, Secretary of CPC Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU were present at the meeting.
Anhui Provincial Medical Partnership for Reproductive Medicine consists of a professionalconsultation team of experts on reproductive medicine.The Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU leads the establishment of the Partnership and sets up a hierarchical medical treatment system, which takes provincial hospitals as the top, hospitals of city-level as the intermediate, and hospitals of county-level as the primary. The Partnership helps to build a regional center for reproductive medicine and its remote consultation platform enables the doctors in hospitals of lower hierarchies to get guidance on treating difficult and miscellaneous diseases.
In the future, patients can go to the local hospitals which are members of the Partnership and equipped with the remote consultation platform for a direct “face-to-face” communication and consultation with the experts of provincial hospitals. Meanwhile, the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU will provide specific instructions and regularly send experts to these hospitals, making local residents experience the on-site medical treatment by the experts, which shortens the distance between the top doctors and the patients and makes it easier to seek for the medical treatment. Based on the principles of “Preliminary diagnosis in the primary-level hospital and medical treatment in hierarchies”, a two-way medical referral system is carried out in the Partnership and Green Channel is open to it.
The first application of the remote consultation platform was for a patient in the People’s Hospital of Jing County, and the attendees of the inaugural meeting were invited to watch the process. Before the remote consultation, the doctor-in-charge had submitted the consultation application and uploaded the electrical medical documents. Dr. XuXiaofeng, chief physician of Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU, took the charge after the consultation time had been determined. She communicated with the patient “face to face” and provided the corresponding therapeutic schedule.
