On the morning of August 19, 2019， the National Undergratuate Invitational of Basic Medical Experiment Skills was held at Anhui Medical University.
AHMU was commissioned by the Medical Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Higher Education to host the invitational together with People’s Medical Publishing House under the guidance of the Chinese Association of Higher Education. Twenty-three well-known universities across the country were invited to participate in the competition, which was held in the newly-built national laboratory of the integrated and intelligent experimental (virtual simulation) teaching center of basic medicine.
The competition is composed of two parts: online examination (human anatomy, tissue and embryo, pathology, pathogenic microorganisms and comprehensive questions) and functional experiment operation.The online examination was evaluated automatically by the examination system, while the functional experiment operation was graded by the third-party experts on the spot. Eventually, 8 teams, including Nanjing Medical University Team, Xi’an Jiaotong University Health Science Center Team and the First Team from AHMU, won the first prize. Thirteen teams, including Guangxi Medical University Team, Tianjin Medical University Team and the Second Team (International Student Team) from AHMU, got the second prize.
This competition was of great significance to foster medical students’ scientific and innovative thinking, rigorous work style and realistic work attitude, and to further improve students’ experimental operation skills and the quality of experimental teaching in medical colleges and universities.
