In the 2019 Huangshan International Wushu Competition recently held in Huangshan, athletes from Anhui Medical University won two championships, two runners-up and many other prizes.
In the Men’s 24-style Taijiquan Competition, Professor Yu Qianchun, from the Department of Physical Education of AHMU, succeeded in defending his last year’s championship. In the Women’s 42 Forms Taiji Sword Competition, the silver medal was taken by Teng Yuzhu, followed by Cui Yan in the third place. Wei Jingjing, Liu Xiaodan, Liu Mengke and Tang Yao won the second prize, and Liu Zhuoran, Wu Mengyao, Jiang Wenxiu, Song Wenting and Ji Yunxi the third prize. In the Women’s 24-style Taijiquan competition, Teng Yuzhu was the champion and Tang Yao was runner-up, with Liu Mengke, Wu Mengyao winning the second prize and Liu Xiaodan, Liu zhuoran the third prize. In the Taijiquan Competition of Eight Ways and Five Steps, Cuiyan, Song Wenting and Jiang Wenxiu received the second prize, and Ji Yunxi the third prize. In the group competition held on the last afternoon, AHMU Team got the third prize. What’s more, Professor Yu Qianchun received a Sportsmanship Award for the Coach of Martial Arts, and Teng Yuzhu won one for the Athlete of Martial Arts.
In recent years, teachers and students of AHMU have won many awards in domestic and international Taijiquan competitions, which is the result of AHMU’s promotion of this sport.
