In terms of the amount of papers published on rheumatoid arthritis, China is second only to America, based on a recent third-party big data’s macroscopic analysis of the papers published in the field in the last three years. And Japan, the Netherlands, Italy and France rank third to sixth. As for the ranking of acdemic institutions, the Medical Center of Leiden University in the Holland ranks first, Manchester Universitiy in the UK and Anhui Medical University (AHMU) in China second and third respectively. More academic institutions from China also appear on the list: Peking University People’s Hospital, Southern Medical University, Sichuan University, Peking University First Hospital, China Medical University and Central South Unversity. According to the impact, Professor Wei Wei at AHMU is one of the most active Chinese scholars in the world, with the amount of papers published by the team led by him in the field of rheumatoid arthritis in the last three years topping the list.
AHMU is one of the founding institutions engaged in anti-inflammatory immunopharmacology. It is also one of the most important institutions in the field nationwide, making remarkable achievements in the basic and clinical research of such inflammatory immune-related diseases as rheumatoid arthritis.
