On September 18, 2020, experts in the field of reproduction, genetics and sperm bank from all over the country conducted a formal operation review of the Human Sperm Bank in The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (Anhui Province). President Cao Yunxia and Secretary of the Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital, Jin Zongxiang attended the review meeting.
During the review, the expert team checked the personnel, equipment, site, management specifications, and trial operation of the Sperm Bank carefully, and agreed that the Human Sperm Bank of The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (Anhui Province) has been equipped with the official operating system conditions. The proposition for operation was passed unanimously.
During the meeting, the person in charge of the Sperm Bank gave a detailed report on its construction and development in terms of personnel qualifications, site equipment conditions, implementation of procedures, quality control and ethics, trial operation process and the rectification measures in the trial operation stage.
It is reported that the official operation of the Sperm Bank of the First Affiliated Hospital (Anhui Province) has filled the gap in the technological services of the Human Sperm Bank in Anhui Province and marked a new level of human-assisted reproductive technology in our province. Before that, there were only 26 human sperm banks nationwide. The Human Sperm Bank in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (Anhui Province) is the 27th human sperm bank that has been approved nationally and put into official operation.
