On December 12, 2020, the 7th Annual Meeting of Physicians of Andrology and Sexual Medicine of CMDA, co-sponsored by CMDA, Chinese Andrology and Sexual Medicine Association and Guangdong Urology Association, was held in Zhuhai. At the opening ceremony, Professor Liang Chaozhao, vice president of Anhui Medical University and doctor of the Urology Department of The First Affiliated Hospital of AHMU, was awarded the 2020 “Guo Yinglu Andrology Award”, China’s highest award in Andrology. And Zhang Li, Associate Professor of Urology Department of The First Affiliated Hospital was awarded the “Guo Yinglu Outstanding Young Expert Award”.
The “Guo Yinglu Andrology Award” is initiated by Beijing Guo Yinglu Urology Development Foundation and to recognize the outstanding contributions made by the winners in the field of andrology. The Chinese Andrology and Sexual Medicine Association is responsible for the selection of only two winners every year. Professor Liang Chaozhao promoted the clinical and basic research of chronic prostatitis with Chinese characteristics based on symptoms, established the diagnostic and curative evaluation standard of chronic prostatitis with symptoms as the core, and popularized it in China, revealing the pathogenesis of chronic prostatitis, and put forward the new concept of prostatic pelvic syndrome, and its related research results were quoted by domestic and foreign guidelines, which changed the traditional understanding of chronic prostatitis.
The selection scope of “Guo Yinglu Outstanding Young Expert Award” winners is young experts under 45 years old nationwide. Based on their work contribution, research achievements, academic potential, peer evaluation and other achievements in the field of andrology, two winners will be finally selected after two rounds of expert recommendation and online defense.
