On the afternoon of August 10, 2023, Professor Chen Xuezhi and his delegation from Taiwan Normal University visited our university. Mr. Gu Jiashan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, met with the visiting guests, and Mr. Liang Chaozhao, Vice President of the university, presided over the symposium. 

On behalf of the university, Gu Jiashan welcomed the visit of the delegation from Taiwan Normal University and introduced our university’s development process, discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, health and wellness services, campus culture, opening the door for university running, and the construction of the new medical center in detail. He said that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are connected by cultural lineage and blood, and hoped that the two universities will continue to strengthen cooperation, so that the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can have more contacts, exchanges and understanding, and make new contributions to deepening cross-strait exchanges and cooperation in higher education.

Liang Chaozhao said that this exchange provides a good opportunity for the two universities to deepen understanding and friendship, and that there is great potential for cooperation between the two universities in psychology research, exchanges between teachers and students, and continuing education. He hoped that this exchange would be a starting point to give full play to the advantages of both universities, integrate the resources of running the university, and promote the cooperation in the areas of student cultivation, exchange of talents, and construction of academic disciplines.

Members of the delegation include Professor Chen Xuezhi, research chair professor of the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling from Taiwan Normal University, dean of the School of Continuing Studies and Extension (SCE) Hu Yannan, director of the Personnel Office Ji Maojiao, and Administrative Specialist of the SCE Yang Xiuhui. The members of the delegation expressed their gratitude to the university for the invitation, and highly appreciated the achievements of AHMU. They said that Anhui Medical University has a great vision and abundant resources, and hoped that this visit would be an opportunity to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the cooperation in higher education between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Prof. Chen Xuezhi, Hu Yannan and Ji Maojiao introduced the School of Education, School of Continuing Studies and Extension, and Personnel Management Policies of Taiwan Normal University at the meeting.

After the symposium, Prof. Chen Xuezhi had academic exchanges with the teachers and students of School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences and gave a presentation entitled “Measurement, Mechanism and Cultivation of Creativity”. The delegation also visited the station of Anhui Medical University of Red Cross Emergency First Aid Training of Anhui Province, the Human Body Science Center and the Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treasures.

Heads and staff of the Party and Government Office, Academic Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, School of Mental Health and Psychological Science, School of Continuing Education and other relevant departments of the university attended the symposium.
