Professor Weng Jianping, President of Anhui Medical University and chair professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, has recently been invited to join the editorial board of Diabetologia as an associate editor. He is the first Chinese scholar to receive this post since the founding of this high-impact journal in 1965. Prof. Weng’s new role testifies the recognition of Chinese diabetologists from the international community.
Diabetologia is the official journal of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes and a prestigious peer-reviewed journal focusing on the basic research, clinical studies, translational medicine as well as the prevention and management of diabetes. First published in 1965, the journal received its earliest impact factor in 1997. Now it is published by Springer Science Media with 12 issues per year and the editor-in-chief is Hindrik Mulder of Lund University. The journal (ISSN:0012-186X, eISSN:1432-0428) has been indexed in many scholarly databases including SCIE and is ranked in both JCR 1st quartile and CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) 1st quartile, with its latest IF at 8.2 and 5-year IF at 9.1. Diabetologia publishes researches on all aspects of diabetes and related subjects, including but not limited to pathophysiology, genetics, epidemiology of diabetes, treatment modality, complication management, and diabetes-related metabolic abnormalities.
