From November 3 to November 4, 2023, The 2023 Yangtze River Delta Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry, hosted by School of Pharmacy in Anhui Medical University and Anhui Laboratory of Inflammatory and Immune Diseases, was held in Hefei. Gu Jiashan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Anhui Medical University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech, and the Vice President LYU Xiongwen presided over the opening ceremony. You Qidong, Chairman of the Medicinal Chemistry Committee of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association and Professor of China Pharmaceutical University, delivered the opening speech.
Gu Jiashan extended a sincere welcome to all the experts, professors, young scholars and graduate students who participated in the symposium and expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the conference. He pointed out that medicinal chemistry provides a novel and effective material basis and structural source for innovative drugs, and plays an irreplaceable role in promoting medical progress. There are many outstanding universities, research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies in the Yangtze River Delta region, and this symposium provides a high-level platform for academic exchanges and cooperative researches for experts and scholars in the field of medicinal chemistry from the Yangtze River Delta region, and also provides an effective way for the participants of the symposium to discuss the latest development and innovative practice of drug research and development. He hoped that the discipline of pharmacy of Anhui Medical University would take this symposium as an opportunity to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation with sister universities in the Yangtze River Delta region, and promote scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation and upgrading.
This symposium attracted more than 800 teachers and students from Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Pharmaceutical University, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing University and other well-known universities and research institutes.
